Hello! This is the README file for the Hoffman Tactical V3.1 Pistol Grips. It contains info that you may want to know. Filing Naming Scheme: “TR” means “Texture Ready” – Add any 0.035” High texture you like to the recessed surface. “NT” means “No Texture” – Blank grip with no cuts or texture. “Legacy” – Designed to fit the V3.0 AR-15 Super Lower as well as the V1.0 AR-9 Super Lower. “Mi spec” – Designed to fit an aluminum lower. “Standard” – Designed to fit all new Super Lowers, Double Rib, V2+ LR-308, Etc... File Types Explained: .STL files are ready to import into your slicer and print. They are a mesh file and are hard to edit. .STEP files are not compatible with most slicers. They are much easier to edit in CAD then .STL files. Recommended Print Settings: You are welcome to experiment. However, I recommend the following basic settings. Cura is an awesome slicer, however I believe Prusa Slicer (Slic3r) is easier to use when printing most parts. The advanced settings available in Cura are not needed. No Support. 0.20 MM Layer Height. Six Walls 25% Gyroid or Honeycomb infill. 0.45 MM Outside Perimeter Line Width. 0.40 MM Top Layer Line Width 0.50 MM Line Width everywhere else. I like to keep print speed under 45 MM/s for optimal layer bonding. But this is not a hard rule. All other settings are dependent on filament and circumstances. This is not the place to discuss them. Notes: The included STL files are rather buggy. I was able to slice them in Prusa Slicer without issue, just keep in mind that they do have issues that could cause a problem. I hope that more skilled designers will add textures to the STEP files that will be less error prone. You can find more info at hoffmantactical.com
