Thank you for choosing the LPL (Low Pace Larping) LPVO Optics mount for 30mm tubes! **Please read the information below carefully** This mount was designed as a way to try different optic centerline heights without buying several mounts. I did live fire test it on a 308 caliber rifle and it does indeed hold zero with recoil and after being dropped several times. It even appears to return to within 1 MOA of zero if removed and remounted. Long term durability is not known and further testing is required. Your results may vary. I designed each part for easy printing with a specific print orientation in mind, please follow the recommended print orientations. Lastly, please, please, PLEASE share your experiences and comments so I can improve this design and hone my skills. I love feedback! **TABLE OF CONTENTS** - Included Files - Assembly Information - Parts - Printing Details **Included Files** - Readme.txt - "Images" folder - Recommended print orientations.jpg - Full Assembly.jpg - Toggle 1.jpg - Toggle 2.jpg - "Bodies" folder - LPL Body - 1.47in.stl and .step - LPL Body - 1.64in.stl and .step - LPL Body - 1.96in.stl and .step - LPL Body - 2.05in.stl and .step - LPL Body - 5.00in.stl and .step - LPL Body - 23.00in.stl and .step - "Mount Hardware" folder - LPL Cam Insert (Flat - Recommended).stl and .step - LPL Cam Insert (Angled - Alternate).stl and .step - LPL QD Cam.stl and .step - LPL QD Claw.stl and .step - "Top Bracket" folder - LPL Top Bracket.stl and .step **ASSEMBLY INFORMATION** Select the centerline height and choose either fixed receiver mount or QD receiver mount. Two version of the cam insert are included to maximize printability, the flat orientation is recommended but may be difficult to print on some machines. QD Version: 1. (Optional) Use 1/8" drill to ream M3 through holes on cam inserts and claws. 2. Insert (2) M3 washers into each Cam insert, use an M3 screw to help seat them on the shoulder. The camming mechanism will bend a single washer so two are needed. 3. Ream the cam out with the 3/8" drill bit. Install the cam insert into the cam and rotate so the washer is facing the assembly cutout. 4. Insert the M3x45 screws through the assembly cutout in the cam. Ensure the cam insert can rotate. If not, check print setting or use fixed receiver mount option. Cam Toggle is now assembled. 5. Insert the assembled cam toggle through the bottom of the claw, then attach the toggles with claws to the mount body using (2) washers on each screw and an M3 nut. See included image for guidance. 6. Attach assembled body to the receiver and adjust tension so that the cam can be locked and unlocked by just the thumb. 6. Install optic in body, securing with the top bracket and (8) M4x14 screws and locknuts in each through-hole. Tighten to 23in-lb (2.6N-m) Fixed Version (Caution: Screws may scratch the reciever rail) 1. Use 5/32" drill bit to ream out the body receiver mounting and claw through-holes. 2. Insert M4x35 screws through claw, then fix to the body using (2) M4 lock nuts in the hexagonal cutouts. 3. Install assembled body onto receiver and tighten to 23in-lb (2.6N-m). 6. Install optic in body, securing with the top bracket and (8) M4x14 screws and locknuts in each through-hole, Tighten to 23in-lb (2.6N-m) **PARTS** QD Version: - (8) M4x14 Socket Head Screws - (8) M4 Nylock nuts (or standard nuts with VC-3 Vibratite) - (2) M3x45 Socket Head Screws - (2) M3 Nylock Nuts (or standard nuts with VC-3 Vibratite) - (16) M3 Flat washers - 3/8" Drill bit - 1/8" Drill bit - (1) Body - (2) Top Plate - (2) Cam - (2) Cam Insert - (2) Claw Fixed Version: - (8) M4x14 Socket Head Screws - (2) M4x35 Socket Head Screws - (10) M4 Nylock nuts (or standard nuts with VC-3 Vibratite) - 5/32" Drill bit - (1) Body - (2) Top Plates - (2) Claw **PRINTING DETAILS** - Materials - PLA+ for trying different heights without live fire. - CF ASA, CF PC, CF Nylon, & GF PLA for live fire (CF ASA was tested) - General settings - layer height: 0.25mm for ALL parts, thinner layers are not needed or recommended. - perimeters: 3.0mm perimeters with 40% gyroid infill. 6 top and bottom layers. - speed: 25mm/s outer walls, 25mm/s inner walls. - cooling: minimum setting that prevents edge curling on overhangs, typically <20% for PLA. - build plate attachment: - body: brim - top bracket and hardware: skirt - supports - QD Hardware - None - Top brackets - None - Body - standard supports (tree supports will over support the model and waste material). - All STL's are oriented correctly for printing, see "Recommended Print Orientations.jpg". Orient lengthwise along the Y-axis to minimize vibrations near the top of the print (not applicable to core xy and delta printers). - Calibrate flow using the 2-wall method (shown at https://3dprintbeginner.com/flow-rate-calibration/), round up to the nearest whole number and add 1%. For example if the calculated value is 97.4%, round up to 98% and add 1% to make 99%. Put 99% into the flow setting on your printer or slicer. - Calibrate dimensions using the sizing calibration worksheet found here (download and edit): https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1uzxgxDTHeHwxTcNySJS7T-__f5-2h0hM/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=103628261456516391499&rtpof=true&sd=true This work is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution.
