# G19 Halo Magnum Inspired Kit by booligan/chairmanwon A Printable Receiver and Slide Cover for Glock 19 Slides and Barrels Release 1.0 ## Description The G19 Halo Magnum Inspired Kit is a printable frame and slide cover for G19 pistol parts to give you a functional firearm in the style of the popular video game model. ## WARNING! The designer, and any affiliated or non-affiliated groups, cannot be held responsible or liable for any injuries or damages that occur with your use of this model. It is imperative you read this entire document before beginning this project. ## Materials Required 1. PY2A G19 Rails (Must be PY2A Format - NOT FMDA) 2. G19 Locking Block 3. Gen 3 G19 complete slide and barrel 4. Gen 3 G19 Upper and Lower parts kit 5. 2mm pin (can be made from drill bit, steel stock, etc) 6. Steel or aluminum suppressor height front sight with extended mounting screw ## Instructions 1. Print frame, it works really well printing it "rails down" thanks to the PY2A design. Add supports, tree supports work well here. 2. Print slide cover vertically on the back of the cover. Your bed adhesion needs to be 100% so you don't get any wobble or disconnecting from the bed. Standard supports are needed to fill the overhangs. 3. Print the plug file with the bottom down against the bed. Standard supports will fill the bridging and overhangs here. 4. Assemble the lower as normal following normal build guides. 5. Assemble the slide components, however, instead of the normal rear plate, use the printed plate to hold in the striker spring/etc. 6. Install slide cover on the slide with the sights removed. 7. Lock the slide cover onto the slide using the pin to go through the rear of the cover and the extended rear plate, and using the suppressor height front sight and extended mounting screw. It will sandwich the cover between the frame and the sight. 8. Check the slide cover for tightness against the slide. It shouldn't budge or move at all. 9. Assemble slide onto frame, and prepare for test firing. 10. Your first 2-3 magazines through this should be off-axis firing, without your face behind the slide. This will help protect you in case of slide cover failure. Shoot through a cycle of 1 round, 2-3 rounds, 5 rounds, 10 rounds, checking for any signs of failure, loosening of the front sight, or other concerns that could affect the slide cover. 11. Even if you do everything right, the slide cover could break off due to internal poor printing, poor extrusion, etc. Use caution with eye and face protection whenever shooting this gun. ## Words of Caution: As mentioned, the slide cover could pose a hazard even if you do everything right. In addition, the trigger guard is an open component with little protection for the trigger itself from your other fingers. This is not designed to be holstered, carried, or put in situations where you could inadvertently pull the trigger. Practice manipulating the slide with an empty magazine and chamber to ensure you don't develop bad habits like grabbing the trigger during slide manipulation. Your safety and the safety of those around you is your responsibility. This could be considered to be an unsafe design if you are not careful and conscious of your handling of this firearm. ## Printing Tips * Duramic/eSun/Your preferred brand PLA+ is the _necessary_ filament. * Print HOT and SLOW for maximum bonding and strength. (50 mm/s and 210 C is recommended.) * It is strongly recommended that your x-axis, y-axis, and z-axis stepper motors are calibrated 100%. ## Changelog * Public Release v1.0 > - Initial release Many thanks to ChairmanWon for his help reshaping the solids to better match the in-game models, as well as for creating the textured frames! ## License > MIT License
